Underdogs Weekend in the Rugby World Cup
admin
This past weekend saw two of the four underdogs win against the odds in the Rugby World Cup quarter finals. If someone had told me first thing Saturday morning that ITV would be advertising a semi final between England and France instead of New Zealand versus Australia, I would have laughed at you, and probably tried to get you to part with some of your hard earned cash, by offering some highly lucrative odds. Pre match, Australia were found at anything from 1/5 to 1/7 to beat England, where as 2/1 favourites to win the tournament; New Zealand, were listed between 1/5 and 1/6 to beat France, so a double with both underdogs was sure to bring the bettor some serious payout!
After the weekend however, things have settled down. Argentina held out to beat the Scots, and South Africa were dominant against Fiji which saw both southern hemisphere teams progress to the semi final, where they will face each other next week.
VC Bet are currently keeping an understandably close eye on the outright odds, with South Africa (6/5) moving up to favourites after the All Blacks’ miserable trip to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, France are close behind at 13/8 leaving Argentina and England as joint outsiders at 6/1 each.
Handicap and 80 minutes betting is currently on offer over at VC Bet now!
